Again, the topic was *data loss*. The accelerometer has nothing to do with data loss.

Data is always availble it's just 1 or 0 and if the wrong bit is set then that is LOST data. YOU DON'T LOOSE DATA. IT CAN NOT BE LOST. It can only be changed. If teh wrong dta is sent then that means the correct data has been lost. Have you never watched TV and found strange pixelation and articacts from time to time ?. Data loss happens, but it's realyl down to the wrong data being sent rather than data disapearing into the ether.

It is very clear that this is in reference to storage method, where mechanical hard drives in computer have moving parts and flash memories in cell phones do not.

well at least that's true, but I have had the accelerometer latch up in my ipad.

No one asked about your iPad.

It uses the same acceleromenter as most phones, in fact I brought simialar ones, about 100 of them last year to use in a project. They're called MEMs because they use a mechanical system. If they go wrong you get the wrong data , the corect data and orintation and postition is LOST data, just because you don;t understand it IS the problem here.
