Why does he need to follow the herd in order to have machine-capabilities to process them any differently?
No one wants him to follow any "herd". That's some awkward thinking you've got ther. We are challening his ignorant and stupid claims about things he knows nothing about.
Of course he's suggesting following the herd. His position that Floyd should learn something new is clearly saying that Floyd should use something other than Linux and Gimp.
the problem is that he has categorically dismissed everything other than linux and the gimp without ever having used any of it.
he has no idea whether it is better or not. he is assuming his way is the one true way and anything else is guaranteed to be worse even though he never actually compared anything.
he also has some absurd misconceptions, such as being forced into using one window or that the command line is hidden off somewhere. i don't know where he gets those ridiculous ideas. he even bases his dismissal on these bogus ideas.
he also makes claims that linux is more efficient and more powerful than other systems, yet he has no way of knowing that either.
