The one thing from the books that I have a hard time visualizing is the part in The Hobbit where Bilbo, Gandalf and the Dwarves have to take cover because these giants are throwing boulders around. I've talked with several friends who have read the books as well and they said that scene is hard to fathom. What do you think would be the hardest scene from the books to be adapted visually without it coming off cheesy?

Patrick

The hardest scene to visualise is from the Hobbit, when Bilbo lights a fire with matches.

Matches.

Weren't these only invented around the 1880's ???

So what are matches doing in a story that pre-dates our history ???

The Dwarves all use flint and tinder.
