For you Sandman: yes I know what a protocol is, in the limited area of computers, and I have some idea of what it is is other areas. Medecine use protocols, the militaries are very fond of protocols, diplomacy and politics involve different protocols and human interactions, at large, involve a lot of protocols that differs between cultures.

But if someone wants to call a hole in the ground a protocol or a procedure or a function instead of a proper hole, as long he is not student or colleague I dont care. And that is not a protocol :) just my method.

I don't know who might have said that. Either that person said something that you interpreted as meaning "all on one drive" and they meant "all in one file", or that person misspoke.
