"Let's hope iOS Mail gets some long overdue features like smart folders. The inability to filter the view for unread messages is ridiculous in a 6th generation mail app."

Hmm that was not my wordings... just picked up from unsatisfied Mac users.

You're the one who conflated (go ahead and look it up) Mac OS X and iOS...

I'm not in the shoes of the OP, don't know if he really meant iOS or OSX.

You mean - other than the fact that he or she explicitly wrote "iOS Mail", still quoted above?

I did not spend a lot of time with Mail, but "The inability to filter the view for unread messages is ridiculous in a 6th generation mail app." seems to apply to OSX Mail, don't it?

Smart folders have been in OSX Mail since 10.4 Tiger (released 2005, so this is an "ancient" feature by your time standards).

Also, Mail was included in Mac OS X 10.0, and we're currently at 10.8 - I know you take math lessons from Nashton, but that's not six generations.
