But that's not the point, is it?

The tremendous appeal of GNU/Linux is that it returns computing to the ideal technical state in which the user is responsible for EVERYTHING. GNU/Linux can be extremely powerful and even surpass Winblows, but only if the user makes it that way.

Of course, many distros attempt to make it simple by absconding control from the user and by providing a kind of Winblows emulation, but IMO these distros do not represent true GNU/Linux.
