Agree. To mention one, the English translation by Anthea Bell and Derek Hockridge is first class. They did excellent work with the many puns (some of them so awful it is specially funny). For example, when the village is visited by the callow Lutetian (Parisian) nephew of Majestix, the chief, the young snot asks: "And how are things here in the Styx?" In another adventure, Caesar consults a young number cruncher who has studied at the Latin School of Economics. And then there is that crowd of pirates whose ship always, inevitably, gets sunk... One of them loves quoting classical Latin tags, for example.the Roman occupants and feasting on roasted wild boar.Flame of the West
It's hard to convey in a short description how very funny they are. Interestingly, they've been translated into dozens of languages and they're funny even in translation. They're very good BTW for those learning a particular language; my wife used one in a class she once took (I think it was Latin).
