In terms of literary merit, it doesn't approach the Bridge of Khazad Dum. In terms of ability to make me grin with enjoyment, I can't think of anything else I've read that tops it. So the British must have felt when the Americans poured in, in preparation for the Invasion. It has been a hard slog until now, and it will be a hard slog from now on, but the turning point has come.
