It is if, in the statement, you don't include other types of human organizations as well. Politics is filled with tales of various forms of misconduct. So shouldn't we label the enterprise of politics as being prone to heinous betrayals of trust? I'm afraid that the human animal is capable of evil and wicked acts, alone or in various sized groups. To pick out religion for specific mention without giving a rightful nod to other, equally blemished endeavors is somewhat dishonest.
