How do you know? That it was informed, I mean. There are plenty of valid and informed reasons to switch to something that isn't an iPhone, but as far as I can make out, the "informed decision" he made was "Eh, this isn't pretty enough for me, what is?" and ended up with a Windows phone.

David Fritzinger
Simple. He found something about the iOS and Mac UI that he found very unpleasant for him. He looked at other platforms, and they were no as unpleasant to use.

"Use" was never a parameter, only looks. At least as far as we know.

Alan Baker
Come on, Jonas: that's disingenuous in the extreme.

Sandman
How so?

Alan Baker
How things look is a part of use... ...and I think you know that.

Sandman
Of course. I was in reference to Lloyd's stated reason for switching, all of which concerned "looks" rather than "use", which is logical, since he is attributing his switch to changes made by Apple, which pretty much all pertain to "looks" rather than "use" which has remained pretty much the same over the years.

Alan Baker
You just said that "of course" looks are a part of use...

Yes? What am I missing here?

David said Lloyd found something that weren't as unpleasant to use.

I said that "use" wasn't a parameter, as far as we know, as to why Lloyd switched, since he has only listed appearance gripes.

"look and feel" is, as you say, a combination. I agree with that. But you can address them individually. I.e. the iPhone could be easy to *use* and yet still look ugly, which is exactly what I have interpreted Lloyds claim to mean (when he's explicitly said that all platforms are identicaly apart from their appearance).

And I use "look and feel" instead of "look and use", because "feel" is pretty much the same thing. If something is easy to use, the "feel" part is good. :)

So, I'm not exactly sure what you mean here.
