This is why I choose the iPhone over Android. I believe it has the better security and update mechanics. I only hope iOS 11 finally gives me a universal file system like repo, otherwise I might just go back to Android. I have a love / hate relationship with Google though. On the one hand their services are outstanding. On the other they like to collect everything and serve me ads and honestly, it's the ads that bother me the most on the Internet. Even more than Snit ever could.

Hating is starting to take the predominate emotion for me in regards to Google. Even if Google was beign (which I don't think they are) they're getting too big of a share of just about everything they're inolved with. I want choice.

I have the same feeling and actively block all ad, tracking, tagging- related scripts from Google when I browse. I have more or less banned their domain because of how much I've learned about their unethical practises. I understand that many proponents of free software give them a pass because they open the code to this and that, but they have no respect for diversity of thought, actively censor anyone they disagree with and it's pretty clear that much of their business depends on the sale of private information from their users.

I mean, for crying out loud, they have gigantic datacentres across the United States and the floor above each of them is dedicated to cooling the hardware on the floor beneath. That, right there, should speak volumes about their shady behaviour.
