Why not? It's better for a gamer, isn't it?

Winblows is better for EVERYTHING, you sloven idiot.

So far, I've found Linux to be better in certain areas, especially as it relates to encrypting personal data, keeping communications encrypted and even resizing images or converting documents.

But that's not the point, is it?

The tremendous appeal of GNU/Linux is that it returns computing to the ideal technical state in which the user is responsible for EVERYTHING. GNU/Linux can be extremely powerful and even surpass Winblows, but only if the user makes it that way.

Of course, many distros attempt to make it simple by absconding control from the user and by providing a kind of Winblows emulation, but IMO these distros do not represent true GNU/Linux.

This is a very fair assessment. With Linux, you feel like the hardware is truly yours. No matter how much a person likes Windows, he can never feel as though he owns the computer because even things like customizing the experience is limited. The fact that he can't even control how the system updates anymore is the cherry on top.
