Once they have executed the list of edits by exporting a file the changes can't generally be reversed either.

click on the adjustment you want to change and alter or reset it to 0 or whatever you want.

... and then export a new and different image. But you can't generally take the first image that you have exported and then edit it back to it's original state

Of course you can, the original state is untouched in LR and all you have to do is revert it to original. Done. 100% reversed.
