Power supplies are glued into iPads: didn't you know?

no they aren't. where did you get that insane idea? plus, what's in that picture is not an ipad power supply anyway nor is there any evidence of it being glued to an ipad.

an ipad power supply is *external* and connects via the lightning port (or dock connector on older ipads).

Ah, but that means - to Eric - that it is indeed internal. If anything related to charging the battery can be found inside the iPad in an iFixit image, then the entire power supply chain is internal inside the iPad. :-D

The iPad's power supply is inside the iPad. It is topped up - charged - refueled from outside.

nope. the ipad's power supply is the little white thing that plugs into the wall and attaches to the ipad via a cable (dock or lightning, as appropriate).

third parties also make power supplies which may run on 12v for a car or have more usb ports for charging multiple devices or various other features.

power supply != battery.
