Certainly the switch lever projects beyond the case so that you can get at it to operate, but the switch is inside the csae and has an internal cover which has to be removed. It's very hard to regard that as an external switch.

nospam
then all switches are internal, which is obviously not the case, therefore your definition is wrong.

it's an external switch. end of story.

Eric Stevens
You seem to think that if you can get at it from the outside it is an external switch.

nospam
that's what external means.

It might mean that to you but it doesn't mean that to me.

In that case my TV has got all it's operable controls on the outside too. I can use them from the other end of the room. They've gotta be external.

nospam
tvs have external switches. otherwise it would not be possible to change channels, power it on/off, etc.

It makes maintenance very easy, with all these bits and pieces on the outside of the TV. Most people have to remove panels and covers to get at all the switches and control devices.

if you're referring to what happens via a remote control, then that's as external as it gets, since the switch is not even attached to the tv.

Really external!

There is nothing much left inside the TV at all. --
