what's to rub? that's a correct statement.
Not under any circumstances will the data be lost, right?
to lose data would requite the cloud to fail *and* the device (phone, computer, etc.) to fail, *and* every backup to fail.
although it's technically possible for *all* of that to happen all at the same time, after all, the planet could be destroyed by an alien invasion, but the chances are so close to zero that it can be considered zero.
the reality is that the cloud *can* fail and the user does not lose anything. this is proven time and time again, every single day, when there are network glitches and the cloud is unreachable.
