People want what they can't have. For many of those living in emerging markets, that's an iPhone.

Last night I was at a family party and my iPhone-loving niece (adult) was learning to use an Android phone. Painful to watch. She has an iPhone 5 that randomly shuts down and the Genius Bar employee told her that she's out of luck. Still almost a year left before she qualifies for a subsidized replacement and she's unwilling to pay full price for a new iPhone 5s so she's using someones used Android phone for the next ten months.
