You mean torque steer.
No, he means understeer, although not necessarily for the reason he claims.
When you get at least 50% of torque to the rear axle it's a piece o cace to rotate the car once you will have turned ESP off.
So yes I meant understeer in the drivetrain layout context.Power application can certainly induce Under/Over, but since its observable even when the throttle is neutral, weight distribution plays a large part as well. The Q7's is front-biased 52%-48%, which will induce more understeer plowing.
Though subaru with it's outgoing symmetrican layout is notoriously unwilling to rotate.Their 'symmetrical' system used to refer to an abolishment of unequal left/right drive shaft lengths, which was an influence on torque steer. I'm not sure that that design element would have any particular influence on under/over-steer....its more likely IMO to be from an ABS braking system based approach in the form of a 'Stability' system that provides correctional forces through wheel braking - I've had vehicles which had this and the system's contribution was quite obvious under certain conditions.
I guess it's a moot point in a pig such as Q7.Nicolas "needs" his Q7 because half his kids are now away at University, so there's fewer passengers around day-to-day in need of a ride. An alternative would have also have had been to take the same total amount of money and buy three Buicks - - - but this was considered unacceptable because of a loss of control and influence: they then would have been both away from home _and_ with personal transportation freedom.
