Brake Dive, Acceleration Squat, Body Roll Works LLCThat wasn't the point: the point was that Nicolas was in vehement utter denial that any parts bin sharing was happening _at all_, which is all that was being disproven.

That also isn't the only example of platform sharing. For example, all of these were built on the same platform (and with variations, the same manufacturing line):
Audi A3 Mk2 (8P) Audi TT Mk2 (8J)[1] Volkswagen Touran (1T) Volkswagen Caddy (2K) SEAT Altea (5P) Volkswagen Golf Mk5 / GTI / R32 / Rabbit Mk5 (1K) Škoda Octavia Mk2 (1Z) Volkswagen Golf Plus (5M) SEAT Toledo Mk3 (5P) Volkswagen Jetta Mk5 (1K) SEAT León Mk2 (1P) Volkswagen Tiguan (5N) Volkswagen Scirocco (13) Volkswagen Golf Mk6 (5K) Škoda Yeti (5L) Volkswagen Jetta Mk6 (1K), (16) Audi Q3 (8U) Volkswagen Beetle (16)
Who really gives a fuck when the end products sharing the same platform could be drastically different.
I doubt there is even as much cross shopping between the two as between apple and samsung clienteles.Oh, I think there is at least as much: cross-shopping within Detroit's system used to be extremely common, and the same still occurs today to some degree even with Detroit's cutback on Marquees and also with EU products - for the latter, I've known individuals who have driven "same pan" comparable VW and Audi products within the same afternoon to help them decide, as well as Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Renault/Infinity, etc…pretty much whatever's available within that consumer's market as product "twins". And FWIW, some people will even choose to go a step further - call it to "cousins" - for example, Jetta - Golf/GTI - A3 - TT are common pan & drivetrain, but with different cabin sizes, #doors, vehicle lengths, etc, which provides some more "tweaking" for customer interests/priorities than the normal set of automotive twins, or modified twins (e.g., A4 vs Passat)
