My wife has a jetta TDI. It's a nice car, drives awesome, but maintainence is pricey (and frequent with the dsg auto, which I'm guessing you'd get since you're shopping Buick :P). We've also had a couple REALLY pricey repairs (might want to read up at tdiclub.com before buying).
That's one of the places I've been reading. And yes, the DSG auto would be in the vehicle. I gotta give credit where it is due, the Jetta TDI is one sweet ride, excellent acceleration and good cornering compared to the Buick.
It more function over form. Buick has hit some pretty sweet spots with the Verano and Encore. Relatively inexpensive, yet very luxurious.
....if you enjoy rental car type interiors.
What a poor choice, Lloyd. you could have been driving around in a beautiful BMW Cuv or even an Audi Q 5 for the same price, instead you opted for NA junk, that looks like it fell off an ugly tree and hit every single branch on its way down, with an abysmal reliability record to boot.
Are you serious, Nashton? Do you really think you can buy a *new* BMW, any BMW or any Audi for the price Lloyd paid?
Let's see:
BMW 1 Series: Stripped at $31,200 BMW 2 Series: Stripped at $32,100 BMW 3 Series: Stripped for $32,550 (Note, this is for the 320i, whick is available with a lower power 4 than the above 2 cars. With the same engine, it starts at about $37,000). BMW X1 (their cheapest SUV): $30,800, again stripped.
What did you pay, Lloyd? Didn't you say it was in the low to mid 20s?
How about a Q5?For me, the BMW and Audi would be a hard sell even if I wanted them as sales and service are not very close by at all. For VW as of a couple of weeks ago, we now have a local dealer.
Stripped Q5: $35,900.
BTW, you do realize that while you complain about Mac users paying so much for their computer, you just paid $thousands more for a VW, which starts at $44,570, while your Q7, built on the same platform, starts at %47,700 with the Premium package (Lowest priced model). Premium plus: $53,700. Prestige: $60,900.
All prices are in US dollars. Prices for all but the Q7 are from the Motor Trend site, while the prices for the Q7 are from the Audiusa site.NashtonDavid Fritzinger
What is wrong with Mac users? Are you oblivious to the term "value for your money?"
You really are quite the hypocrite, aren't you? Especially since you apparently have no idea of BMW, Audi, or VW prices in the US.
