I would have been getting synthetic oil and a filter change for $45 plus tax, if I didn't get my $750 one time service fee.

$80 for an oil change is just another figment of his imagination.

I don't believe you at all.

Particularly since it is easy enough to cross-check:

Post#3:

"Turns out I Purchased the Audi Care package. The package retail is $750 I think.

I asked the service tech what the four included service intervals are priced at right now and this is what I found.

15K=$440 25K=$225 35K=$886 45K=$225

I think the package was worth it's price. The 9 quarts of oil alone would cost $75 or so."

BTW, note that these are in US$'s, not Canadian.

Similarly, and also a bit dated, but scroll way down:

<http://www.caranddriver.com/audi/q7#>

"Departure Date: September 2011 Months in Fleet: 13 months Final Mileage: 41,055 miles Average Fuel Economy: 21 mpg Average Range: 554 miles Service: $1626 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Normal Wear: $1850 Repair: $0 Unscheduled Urea-Solution Additions: $26 Damage and Destruction: $526"

That's $300 greater than the above, but it really doesn't matter too terribly much: if one wants a particular product and it costs more to operate than alternatives, that's simply part of the trade-off decision that one makes. The lesson isn't to be hypocrite by then arrogantly doing the exact opposite in other functionally identical decisions.
