My wife has a jetta TDI. It's a nice car, drives awesome, but maintainence is pricey (and frequent with the dsg auto, which I'm guessing you'd get since you're shopping Buick :P). We've also had a couple REALLY pricey repairs (might want to read up at tdiclub.com before buying).
That's one of the places I've been reading. And yes, the DSG auto would be in the vehicle. I gotta give credit where it is due, the Jetta TDI is one sweet ride, excellent acceleration and good cornering compared to the Buick.
It more function over form. Buick has hit some pretty sweet spots with the Verano and Encore. Relatively inexpensive, yet very luxurious.
