PeterN...and yet they fail. I have two LaCie drives and a LaCie Raid. Even though I can get into the case without too much trouble the innards make replacing drives or upgrading with larger drives an impossibility. Their power supplies have always been outboard bricks with proprietary connectors. No more LaCie for me regardless of their very solid, Pro appearing, & well made cases.

In my own experience, the power is the part that break the most easily in drives.
In my LaCie enclosures, yes.
la cie is well known for shitty power supplies.
But LaCie drives re not cheap.
