You are wrong:

<http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=mac+mini+entertainm>>>> e

nt+center>

The specs clearly do not prevent many people from using it as such.

Glorb
You should have read some of those articles. You would have seen them talking about adding hardware to the Mini.

Snit
You claimed the Mac mini could not be used as a part of an entertainment center based on its "specs".

Glorb
No, I said the Mac Mini is inadequate to the task.

Snit
I proved you wrong.

Glorb
You proved me right by referencing articles that told what equipment had to be added to the inadequate Mac Mini.

Snit
if it will be moved a lot,

Glorb
Get a notebook computer instead.

Snit
That ties you to its monitor (though you can use another).

Glorb
You can use a Mac Mini without a monitor?

Snit
Well, yes, but that is irrelevant.

Glorb
No it isn't. It has to do with your "that ties you to it's monitor" remark.

Snit
A laptop is tied to its monitor. Take it off and you break its warranty. This is such common sense as to be stupid to debate about.

Glorb
I'm not the one debating that. You are.

Snit
Might there be some laptop which is an exception? Perhaps... but for the general case this is just the way it is.

Glorb
Might there be some Mac Mini that doesn't need a monitor? Then it's stupid to point out that the laptop makes you have a monitor.

Snit
Why not stick to the topic?

Glorb
I haven't left the topic.

Snit
You talked about using computers without monitors at all.

Glorb
To match your insistence upon a laptop with no screen.

Snit
You left the topic.

Glorb
Not me.

Snit
With a laptop you are tied to the one monitor it comes with -

Glorb
No you're not.

Snit
while you can remove it, I suppose, that would void the warranty.

Glorb
A sane person would just use the VGA out port to attach to another monitor.

Snit
That is not the same thing as removing the monitor it has.

Glorb
Why would you want to remove the laptop's monitor? Why would you even object to using it in the first place?

Snit
With the mini you are not tied to the same limitation.

Glorb
Neither is a notebook.

Snit
You are simply incorrect. Pathetically so.

Glorb
You're describing your own answers.

Snit
A laptop is tied to a monitor.

Glorb
No it's not.

Snit
A Mac mini is not.

Glorb
A Mac Mini doesn't even have a monitor.

Snit
The fact you can add another monitor to a laptop is not in question.

Glorb
You brought it into question.

Snit
For moving a computer around a house on a semi-regular basis the mini makes sense (say people who have two homes and move the computer back and forth between homes or people who have a guest house and move a computer there for company or... well, hopefully you get the idea).

Glorb
No, it makes more sense to have a notebook and move the keyboard, screen, and computer as one compact, complete unit.

Snit
In some cases, yes... but not always... depends on your needs. What if you want a larger monitor?

Glorb
Use the VGA out port into a larger monitor. What happened to your idea of this being portable? How big of a monitor are you going to lug from room to room?

Snit
What if you want a different keyboard? A mouse? Why have multiple of each?

Glorb
USB ports will handle that.

So now you're lugging a Mac Mini, a huge screen, and multiple keyboards and mice from room to room on a regular basis?

Snit
if it will be a part of a lab

Glorb
Inadequate for the task.

Snit
What makes you think that?

Glorb
The specs.

Snit
The Mac mini would do quite well for many labs. Depends on what the lab is used for. Your answer, pretty much, is a dodge.

Glorb
No, your hemming and hawing up there is a dodge. The Mac Mini is inadequate for a lab.

Snit
If you wish to support this then please do. But you won't. Ever. This is quite apparent at this point. You are really, really bad at supporting your views.

Glorb
Where did you support your view that it is adequate for a lab? When have you used a Mac Mini to do anything?

Snit
where you want to be able to easily lock it down and position it, etc.

Glorb
Larger computers can be locked down easily. In fact, if theft is your concern, you're probably better off without a computer that fits in somebody's pocket.

Snit
Some truth to that, but it depends on the furniture and the layout.

Glorb
I haven't seen a lab yet that couldn't accommodate regular computers.

Snit
I have worked in labs where "regular" computers made things far to compact.

Glorb
Whatever that means.

Snit
Full sized computers were way too big for the environment. A Mac mini would have been great... or an iMac.

Glorb
Have you been spending time at the Smurf village again?

You said the Mac mini is inadequate for the task of being used with a home entertainment center. You offered no support nor countered the contrary evidence.

You tried to argue against the idea of the Mac mini being a good choice for being portable in some situations by pointing to another solution that is generally more expensive and often does not serve the need as well. In addition you lied about the need to lug monitors and multiple keyboards around just to move the mini (it can easily be detached from those!)

You have claimed the Mac mini would not work in a lab but you have not said what it could not do that would be needed in a lab... nor have you been able to counter the fact that its smaller size is a benefit for some labs.

In the end you say nothing of value and just go off topic and babble... very much like Steve Carroll. You are not his sock puppet though... right? LOL! No proof, mind you, but, well, just say your are sure working to act a lot like him. Heck, he and you even co-trolled on the completely unsupported claims about UPSs and power supplies... almost like you were the same person!
