Most people simply aren't braindead OS bigots like you are George.

-hh
And sales figures show that fewer people are brainwashed into believing that Windows is the only possible choice. So besides slinging gratuitous insults, what's your point, Mayor?

Mayor Of R'lyeh
When they buy a computer they ask 'What do I want to do with it?' instead of clinging tightly to an OS. They then look around for a machine that will fit those needs for the least amount of money.

-hh
And the smarter ones also say "What do I *not* want in this product?"

Mayor Of R'lyeh
Unlike you ,a guy who lives in the 'swank' side of town crammed between the industrial zone and the freeway,

Somebody needs to tell Clyde that the place where he so stupidly thinks I live no longer exists. It was torn down (and if one does a street view in Google on that address, one can see the construction fence and the porta-potty on the empty lot - the picture was obviously taken during construction) and replaced by million dollar+ condos . I'm sure the people who bought them don't think that they are crammed between an industrial zone and the freeway. Of course he's been told this a number of times, but, of course, he's too stupid to understand it.

most people don't have a

bucketload of spare cash. They insist on getting value.

-hh
And some people see value in not having to deal with certain types of bullshit that exist on the Windows side.

And FWIW, did it ever occur to you that the reason for the mini's form factor is because it helps encourage impulse purchases? Afterall, one can't exactly carry home a cheap Wintel tower around the mall in a mere shopping bag.

Mayor Of R'lyeh
That's where your lame-o car analogy falls apart.

-hh
Don't fret: your car analogy falls apart too.

Mayor Of R'lyeh
If you must have a car analogy it would be closer to say you've looked at Cadillacs at two different car dealerships. Sure they each have a few features that the other doesn't have but its nothing that you think is a big deal. For all intents and purposes they're the same car with the same ability to do what you want a car to do.

-hh
And they're both pieces of crap from GM. Analogy catastrophic failure.

Mayor Of R'lyeh
The only real difference is that Dealer A is selling his for $2,000 less than Dealer B is selling his for. Which are you going to buy from?

-hh
Not enough information yet, because the " **don't want** in this product" hasn't been evaluated:

How far from home is Dealer A vs B? Which provides a free loaner for customers who bought their car there? Which one has the bad reputation for a service department that sucks? etc.

Gosh, its those pesky "product lifecyle" types of considerations again that those who are shortsighted always seem to overlook, and then pay more in the long run.

Enjoy your "Cadillac", Mayor. Maybe you'll find one that has working air conditioning :-)

-hh

Very few Cadillacs bought from salvage yards have working air conditioners. Since that's the only kind of car shopping Clyde does, its unlikely that any of the wrecks rusting in the yard of his sagging hillbilly shack have functioning AC.
